If You Say It Is Redux
After a successful first reading for his project, If You Say It Is, Luke has been working hard at the revision process and has decided it's time to put the new draft to the test! This controversial new project was created in collaboration with The Actor's Green Room and Tony-nominated director Kristin Hanggi.
He will be holding another reading, this time on October 15. The cast features members of the Actor's Green Room community, a collective of artists dead set on empowerment and positivity and the need to change the way the business works so that artists support each other instead of tearing each other down.
If You Say It Is follows Eli, a young man who falls in love with a very young girl, Leilani. Over the course of a year, they both most come to terms with feelings neither one of them truly understands and deal with the social consequences of having such feelings. The script examines the nature of why we love who we love and posing a question that should seem simple, but is suddenly muddled when put into uncomfortable circumstances: is love (or anything, for that matter) ever inherently "wrong"? Or is something only that way if you say it is?
Come join us for a reading of the script, followed by Q&A and Feedback with the cast.
